The Thing About Home by Rhonda McKnight

I loved the Black family so much especially Ida.  I have a 95 year old grandma named Ida and they both are so similar.  The dual timeline helps so much to give more depth to the history of the family.  Nigel is such a great character as well! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

When Tomorrow Came by Hannah Linder

This was a very dark read and at one point in the story, I was so very uncomfortable.  Reading it digitally also made it extremely difficult to tell where the story changes to a different character.  I'm sure many will enjoy this story but unfortunately it was not my cup of root beer :) Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Two to Tango by Kathleen Fuller

So good to be back in Maple Falls with these characters that the reader has grown to love.  Kingston is such a great character but boy can he be frustrating!   I wish that the ending would have gone a little longer and the large part of the story was a little less. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Brynn and Sebastian Hate Each Other by Bethany Turner

This author is so much fun to read with her references to popular tv and movie shows!  Sebastian was swoon worthy and the citizens of Adelaide Springs made me want to go there to visit! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Bark of Zorro by Kathleen Y'Barbo

This was my favorite book out of the series so far.   I found the other stories to be a little more far fetched and this one was in the realm of the possible.  I particularly enjoyed the characters of the game Warden! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

Positively Penelope by Pepper Basham

These books are so dreamy and I never want them to end!   Penelope is such a great character and someone you instantly want to be friends with.  She has such joy and exuberance inside of her.  Grandpa Gray is another fascinating character as well as Iris!   Gosh, I can't say enough good things about this book and hope the author has the next one out as soon as possible. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Letters of Trust by Wanda E. Brunstetter

This book gives a real life glimpse into the world of alcoholism and how it affects everyone involved including this Amish family.  I think the story could have been developed a little bit better if more attention was paid to the letters. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Loyalty by Lisa Scottoline

This book took me a while to get invested in.  I found at the beginning that there were too many storylines and I just wanted to finish the book.   Once the story and characters came together, it was much more interesting for me and I enjoyed the rest of the book. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Escape Game by Marilyn Turk

This was a captivating story and I enjoyed how the author told the story from the home front and from the side of the men involved in the war.  I felt like the story ended a little too suddenly for me.  I really enjoyed the characters of Beryl and James! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Her Pretend Amish Boyfriend by Rachel J. Good

It's always fun to be back in the market and get reacquainted with all of the characters.  Mrs. V. has her hands full with Noah and Caroline but what a great story it was. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Words We Lost by Nicole Deese

This book took the reader on a roller coaster of emotions and topics.  The friendship of the three main characters was remarkable despite the many hills and valleys in their relationships.  Joel and CeeCee were my favorite characters! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Children Left Behind by Lizzie Page

I enjoyed being back with Clara and Ivor and the children at the orphanage. My favorite parts are hearing about the children and the way Clara advocates for the kids amidst a broken system.  I found the church attendance and relationship with Ivor to be too much at times. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

An Island Far From Home by Kate Hewitt

KRR's Review: I found Kate Hewitt through Netgalley some time ago and have always enjoyed how she writes her novels.  She writes WWII novels and also fiction that revolves around social issues.  Ms. Hewitt is one author that I always choose when I see her books available on Netgalley.   I really enjoyed being back on Am herst Island as this is the fifth book in the series.   It took me a minute to reacquaint myself with these characters but once I did, I really enjoyed reading the story of Rosie and Violet.  It was fascinating to see what these women did during WWII, but also disappointing in how badly they were treated. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own. Book Description: Rosie realized she loved the man standing before her. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. And if he were to fall in France, heaven help them both, she knew she would not regret one last night with him… 1941, Canada : When  Rosie Lyman  and her cousi
