Living Secrets by S.F. Baumgartner

This story was so engaging for me as a reader!  I enjoyed how the chapters were small and changed quickly between the characters as the story unfolds.  There are lots of characters so in the beginning it was hard to keep everyone straight but the story line was so interesting, that it kept me reading.  I enjoyed how some of the characters made such great sacrifices to protect their loved ones.  I look forward to reading the next book! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Heart's Shelter by Amy Clipston

Loved reading more about Jayden's story.  He is probably my favorite character of Bontrager boys.  I really liked how the young people in the community stepped up to perform service to those around them.  I found Aenti Ellen to be so wise and helpful to Kira and Ruby was adorable! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

When's Mummy Coming by Rachel Wesson

WWII books are sometimes difficult to read especially when children are involved.  This author brings to light such a difficult topic in a way that isn't sensationalized but just tells a really difficult story.  There were so many heroes during this time but some of the most valiant were the children and the mothers that did what they had to to protect their children.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Moving Forward by Shelley Shepard Gray

I didn't read the first story in the series but was able to jump right in.   I can identify with Kristen and her need to keep things close to her chest.  Mr. March seemed to be quite a dreamy character.  I also enjoyed the subplot of Jen and Ryan.  Jen was a girl who had gone through so much but was still pushing on.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Into the Fire by Irene Hannon

Mystery, suspense, romance, page turner, this book had it all!  The story and surprises throughout kept me reading without hardly stopping.  There were so many great characters as well--Bri, Nan, Josh, Jack and Cara.   I loved how the three siblings were so close and protective of each other.  Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Against the Wind by Amanda Cabot

I did not read the first book in the series but was able to jump right into the story.  I really liked the character of Louisa.  Louisa was humble, gentle and respectful even when those around her didn't treat her well.  Josh was such a great character as well and didn't let wealth and privilege change him. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Mother's Secret by Kate Hewitt

These psychological books always grab my attention and this author is one of my favorites.  The story lacked a little something for me.  I was waiting for much of the book to get to the heart of the matter.  Laura and Rachel were interesting characters but didn't pull me into the story. Thanks so much to netgalley and Bookouture publishing for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Lost and Found by Suzanne Woods Fisher

This book was so enjoyable!  I loved how the author spoke so much about birds in relationship with the Bible.  I also liked how the difficult subject matter was handled in such a positive light.  The Amish are so interesting to me and their focus on community is so special!  I enjoyed the characters of David, Trudy and Micah. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.  This review will be posted on the blog:  kroosreadsandreviews.blogspot.com and also on my personal Facebook page on release date.

Light Rises by Rachel Wesson

I'm so glad I was able to read this book so quickly after reading the first book.  This one was harder to read as the torture has escalated.  The strength of the Belanger girls and those around them was amazing and inspiring. We should not forget the past and seek to ensure that we advocate for those around us. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own. This review will be published on my blog kroosreadsandreviews.blogspot.com.  I will also post the blog review on the publication date

The Heirloom by Beverley Lewis

I read The Shunning when I was in college and it opened up the world of the Amish to me.  I was so excited to read this book.  It continues to amaze me about the differences between the Amish and "English" people.  I enjoyed how the story played out.  Of course my favorite characters were Ella Mae, Aaron and Clara  Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Darkness Falls by Rachel Wesson

I forgot this was a series!   Now I can't wait to read the next one.  These WWII books are hard to read but the resilience of the people is so heroic.  I particularly enjoyed the characters of Jules, Dr. Murphy, and Sophie.  The author gives a startling look into this difficult time period without being gory. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Captivated by the Cowgirl by Jody Hedlund

I'm so glad that the story ended with Felicity and Phillip.  The banter that these two exchanged with each other was so much fun to read and kept them both humble.   I enjoyed the character Mr. Keller so much too and likes how Felicity and Phillip were so selfless in their care for him. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Wind Blows in Sleeping Grass by Katie Powner

This is such a powerful book!  There were so many characters to love in this story.  My favorites were definitely Wilma, Braedon and Windy Ray.  Windy Ray and Wilma had such wisdom and faith throughout the book which I really enjoyed.  It gave me another insight into the foster care system as well.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Convincing the Cowgirl by Jody Hedlund

This book has all of the great parts of a wonderful story--characters that are enjoyable (Spencer, Patience, Evangeline and Tex), plot that is interesting (marriage of convenience) and romance (the sparks between the characters is chemical)!  I can't wait to read the story of the youngest sister, Felicity! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
