Beyond Ivy Walls by Rachel Fordham

This was my favorite book by this author!!   The story drew me in from the beginning and I could barely do anything else but read this book!   Otis and Sadie were such great characters and were so unique in their own ways.  I loved how Leon and Mildred were like grandparents to Otis and Sadie as they go throughout the story.  This may be one I reread because I loved it so much!! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Library of Borrowed Hearts by Lucy Gilmore

This book pulls the reader in and keeps them until the end.  The literary quotes throughout the book added another layer to it.  The romance and mystery throughout the book kept me turning the pages.  There were so many characters that I liked but especially the three kids and Jasper.  There is a little spiciness and swearing in the book. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Finders Keepers Library by Annie Rains

This was such an amazing book that pulled me in from the beginning!   I wanted to finish it to figure out what happens but wanted to stay with the characters too!  I love how each chapter is told from a different characters point of view.  I also liked how each chapter starts with a different quote from a book.   There were so many memorable characters in this book that I won't list them all!  This is a must read!!! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Girl with the Red Hair by Imogen Mathews

I really enjoyed seeing familiar names of Dutch areas in this book. World war II books are hard to read about due to the amount of tragedy and awfulness that happened at that time. But this author has a way of still giving hope amidst all the sorrow that happened. I particularly enjoy the characters of Hannie and Jan their strength in joining the resistance was amazing. I found Sonja to be a little frustrating due to the choices that she made.  Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The opinions are my own.

A is for Amish by Shelley Shepard Gray

I enjoyed how close the four siblings were despite their upbringing.  The siblings are college/adult age and are looking to find their place in the world.  The story primarily focuses on Martin and Kelsey.  The characters were enjoyable to read about especially Anna, Sylvia and Josiah.  I understand that it's a series but the abrupt ending was a bummer. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Crime and Cherry Pits by Amanda Flower

I enjoyed being in Traverse City for all of the cherry related activities.  Shiloh really gets herself in bad situations as she tries to discover who is behind the murder.   My favorite characters were Huckleberry and Hazel.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Courting an Amish Bishop by Mindy Steele

This was a fun book to read!  I enjoyed learning more about foraging for items that would provide healing!   Simon and Stella were such enjoyable characters who sought to help others despite any ill will that might be displayed.  Michael, Ellie and Lena were great supporting characters.  Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Dysfunction Junction by Robin W. Pearson

This book was a deep read and interspersed between the present and the past.  The three sisters rose above a very difficult and neglectful past.  The challenges still are difficult for the sisters in the present day but the bond is still there.  My favorite part was the support that their spouses or boyfriends provided.  They were amazing to each of these women. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Finding Friends at the Corning Country Hospital by Jo Bartlett

This book had me intrigued from the beginning because of the title and the description.  I enjoyed the friendship between Esther and Danni and how they had each other's backs.  Joe and Charlie were also great characters.  At times I found Caroline's complaints a little bit too repetitive! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Shelterwood by Lisa Wingate

This book was moving and the plight of children always pulls at my heartstrings.   The resilience of these children who had to navigate for themselves is so incredible. We can look back at history and see the mistakes made, I often wonder what mistakes we make today.   Ollie, Nessa, and Hazel were great characters!    The other amazing part of the story was the women who fought to find out the rest of the story.  These women give us examples to look to in the problems we face. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

The Sleuth of Blackfriars Lane by Michelle Griep

I loved catching up with Kit and Jackson!  I particularly enjoyed seeing their relationship develop as parents as well.  They are such a sweet couple and it is fun to read about!    The sleuthing was exciting in the story as it left me guessing as to who was involved.  As Kit and Jackson get further involved in the case, the reader is left cheering them on and hoping they come out unscathed. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own. The review will be posted on my blog as of March 1, 2024.
