Shadows at Dusk by Elizabeth Goddard

Isaiah 42:1-2, 4 are some of my favorite verses and I love that they are interspersed throughout this story.  I loved how Trevor cares so much about his sister and longs for justice to be served.  Carrie had been through so much but continues to think about others.  The suspense was strong in this book and I never knew if a character was good or bad.  It definitely kept the story very interesting. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Skye Fall by Paige Edwards

What a fantastic suspense story!  Isla is such a phenomenal character and has such a strength to her despite all of the struggles that she has gone through.  Ben is such a dreamy character and a hero to all of those around him.  I really enjoyed the suspense and mystery in the story! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own .

New Leash on Life by Kathleen Y'Barbo

Another great story!  I loved following the story of Lane and Nora.  I particularly fell in love with Pal and loved learning more about military dogs.  Lane's PTSD was sad to think about and disappointing that he couldn't share that with his friends and family. Thanks so much to netgalley and Barbour publishing for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Fragile Designs by Colleen Coble

This book was so suspenseful and full of intrigue!   I really enjoyed learning more about the Faberge eggs as well.  Even though the families had a lot of dysfunction, I enjoyed how they worked together.  My favorite characters were Carly, Lucas and Noah.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Flower Quilter by Mindy Steele

The first quarter of the book was a little slow for me but once it got into the heart of the story, I really enjoyed it.  I also really enjoyed learning more about the flower gardens that are in Indiana.  I hope to check those out sometime soon.  The characters of Sarah and Elli were my favorites!! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Lethal Range by Ryan Steck

I have never read anything by this author but will definitely be checking out more of his books.  Since I didn't read the first book, it took me a little bit to get to know the characters.  This book had me turning the pages as quickly as possible to see what would happen next.  The characters of Mikey and Emily were my favorite.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Sisters Under the Rising Sun by Heather Morris

What an astonishing story of so many women who fought against the horrors that took place during WWII.  Their strength and resilience should be remembered and known by all of us.   It took me a little while to get into the story and all of the characters but once I did I was hooked.   The atrocities that took place are so challenging to read about but should give us pause to reflect and remember. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

Cherishing the Cowgirl (Colorado Cowgirls #2) by Jody Hedlund

This book is definitely swoon worthy!  It departs from the McQuaid's, who we have grown to love, and instead focuses on Charity.  Charity is the eldest sister who owns the boardinghouse from the first book.  Hudson isn't the most likeable character as he is extremely pompous but the reader grows to care for him throughout the book.  I'm looking forward to seeing which cowgirl is highlighted in the next book!! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Committing to the Cowgirl (Colorado Cowgirls #1) by Jody Hedlund

I love being back in Colorado with the McQuaid and the Steele families.  It's awesome that Astrid has pursued a medical career with her history of consumption and how it has made her such a strong woman. Logan is quite dreamy and such a fun character to get to know through this book! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own!

Wedding at Sea by Melissa Tagg

I missed the second book in the series but was so glad to be able to read this one and catch up with the characters.  Lillian and Wilder are some great characters to follow along with but Maggie will continue to be my favorite.  I love how connected this family is despite their unusual circumstances.  I guessed one of the pieces to the mystery during the book but the rest remained a mystery until the end. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Girl From the Papers by Jennifer L. Wright

This was an interesting spin on the lives of the infamous duo Bonnie and Clyde.  It was interesting to think more about the people behind the crimes and how that affected their choices.  My favorite characters were Alli and Rose.  I loved how they showed Jesus to Bea despite the choices she made. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Soldier's Child by Tetyana Denford

I finished 1/3 of the story but just couldn't invest myself in the characters or the story.  I kept hoping that the story would move along a little faster and make it worth my time but in the end it didn't grip me. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Bitter and the Sweet by Anessa Sewell Kent

This book reads really differently.  It's almost like an outside person is telling the story in a very monotone way.  I made it through 60% of the book and decided I was not going to finish it.  The story and the writing just did not appeal to me. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Letters of Comfort by Wanda E. Brunstetter

This is a sweet story even though it was somewhat predictable.  These books have been pretty heavy and it felt like a dark cloud over much of the book.   The highlight of the book was definitely the letters and encouragement that Eleanor sent to Doretta.    Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

The Year of Goodbyes and Hellos by Kelly Irvin

This is a well written novel about the highs and lows of a family affected by a cancer diagnosis.  It's such a serious and difficult topic but told in such a sweet way and from the perspective of the patient and the oncologist.   Sherri and Chance were my favorite characters in the story.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

A Storm of Infinite Beauty by Julianne MacLean

The author knocked it out of the park with this book!  She has such a way with words that the reader can picture herself sitting in the Wilderness Lodge with Blaine and Maud.   I'm not usually a fan of dual timeline stories but this one worked so well and flowed so effortlessly.   The book left me thinking about each of the characters and the strength and resilience of their story. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Snow Place Like Home by Lacey Baker

A grief shared often helps to relieve some of the burden.  In this story, Ella and Seth are loaded down with a lot of grief.  Ella seems to deal more negatively with her grief and Seth appears to be more healthy.  The book was a little slow for me. My favorite character was Aunt Addie.  She loved Ella so much and dedicated her life to raising her. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Light on Halsey Street by Vanessa Miller

I struggled with this book and normally I really enjoy this author.  I felt like there was too much drama.  Every time I turned the page something worse was happening.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.   The opinions are my own.

The Last Orphan by Kate Hewitt

It was so good to be back with Rosie as she helps to chaperone the children from the concentration camps.  It's hard not to have your heart broken at the atrocities that were committed to the people at the Nazi camps.  The additional characters of Frieda and Leon were so special as well.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
