Trial and Error by Robert Whitlow

5 stars!! I have never read anything by this author but look forward to checking out more of his books! The story begins with Buddy and Sammy in the hospital waiting room awaiting the birth of their babies. Then the story fast forwards 17 years Buddy is an attorney and also helps families who are searching for their missing kids. He has been searching for his daughter Elise since she was only a couple of days old. Sammy is also searching for his daughter Reagan and they are unsure where she is. My favorite character was Gracie who is the county clerk and a classmate of buddy. She is extremely selfless and loves the Lord with everything in her! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own. This book released on February 2nd and can be found on Amazon-- Trial and Error: Whitlow, Robert: 9780785234654: Amazon.com: Books

Plot Twist by Bethany Turner

5 Stars I was so excited to read this story as I love anything by Bethany Turner! This book was written in such a new and unique way! The story centers on February 4th from 2003 to 2013. The story begins on 2-4-13 with Olivia at the coffee shop Mugs and Shots. She is employed as a greeting card writer but is working on her own screenplay. She meets an unnamed man and vows to meet back on this date in 10 years Each chapter starts on the following year of February 4th and the reader hears about what has been happening in Olivias life and those around her. I really enjoyed the characters of Fiona and Liam. Fiona is her best friend and is always encouraging Olivia throughout this 10 year period. Liam was a friend/boyfriend who was also memorable. My favorite is his part in the coffee shop with, "isn't it ironic" I also loved all of the mentions of pop culture in the book. You will also look forward to finding out what will happen on February 4, 2013. Thanks so much to netgal

Loving Mrs. Bontrager by Loree Lough

A Little Child Shall Lead Them #3 5 Stars Aaron is a widowed father of three who is having a difficult job running the sawmill and attending to the needs of his three kids. Beth is a young lady who lives with her brother and father who treat her terribly because of a problem with her leg that causes a limp. Beth agrees to marry Aaron as a marriage of convenience to take care of the kids and the house. Beth is amazingly selfless woman who tackles the job with such love for Aaron and the kids even when they can be unkind. I loved the character of Beth so much! She worked hard from before sunup to long after sunset without complaining. She treated others with such compassion even when they did not return the gesture. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Samuel's Return by Susan Lantz Simpson

4 Stars!! Samuel returns to Maryland after 10 years of being away. When he was a teenager he left with his family but left Lena, a 15 year old girl with a broken heart. 10 years later Lena is a widowed mother of 3. Samuel wants to reconcile with Lena but her feelings were so hurt by his abandonment. She has a wonderful friend in Rebecca and Atlee who encourage her to confront her feelings. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own

The Girl in the Painting by Tea Cooper

This is a time slip novel set in Australia. The story centers around Michael and Elizabeth who are siblings. The story goes back and forth about 40 years as they tell the story. It's hard for me to give too much of a description without giving the story away. There are lots of twists and turns in the novel that will leave you questioning who the characters are and how they are part of the story. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble

5 Stars!! This is the 3rd book in the Pelican Harbor Series. Another new author for me to check out! This is the 3rd in a series and it took a little to figure out who all the people were and how they were related but once I did, wow! This was a novel with so much suspense and mystery running through it. I did not want to put the book down as I wanted to see who was behind the murder. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Bookshop by The Sea by Denise Hunter

5 Stars I have never read anything by Denise Hunter but I am already looking forward to reading another of her books. I really enjoyed the clean romance and the twists and turns in the story. Sophie is a woman who is a fixer. She takes care of her sick mom, takes care of her siblings and doesn't take care of herself. She dated Aiden in high School but then he broke her heart and moved away. 7 years later they are reunited through her sisters wedding. Boy do the sparks fly and they aren't always the good ones! Check this book out to enjoy this novel of possible second chance romances. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own

A New Love for Charlotte by Amy Lillard

3 stars This is the 11th book in the Wells Landing Series I have not read any of the other books in this series so I came in to it being thrown a lot of names. Once I understood who was who the story was enjoyable. Charlotte is a 43 year old widow who lives with her mother in law. Charlotte is friends with two men. Paul is her neighbor and is her best friend. Glenn is the man she meets at church that she wants to marry. Charlotte has one daughter who is married but would still like to have another child. I felt in the beginning that Charlotte always was complaining. The story also moved a little but slow for me. I did enjoy the aspects of foster care and the puzzle nights that they enjoyed. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

The Girl at the Back of the Bus by Suzette D. Harrison

4  stars What a powerful book this is! This is a time slip novel. Matties story is from the 1940s and Ashlees is from the present day. Mattie is on her way to have an abortion when she is on the bus with Rosa Parks. The heroic act of Ms. Parks gives Mattis the courage to raise her baby. Ashlee is Maddies granddaughter and she needs to fight against the glass ceiling of being an African American woman in a male dominated world of being a lawyer. There were so many things to think about from this story as I looked back on history and the present day. I could have done without some of the sexual stuff and language but I appreciated the story and the lessons that came with it. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Facing the Dawn by Cynthia Ruchti

4 stars I am not sure even how to review this book. The subject matter was really tough and there was an extreme amount of loss in the book. But on the other hand there was so much grace and love that was displayed. Mara is a mother of 3 children (Jeremy 12, Chelsea 18, and Dylan 19) Her husband is on a 4 year stint in Uganda creating wells for the people there. The family is in crisis in the beginning as the 2 older kids have had some problems. But then tragedies strike. I particularly enjoyed the characters of Solomon and Ashlee. They came alongside of the family and poured life in to them. Mara is also a woman of snarkiness which was enjoyable. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
