An Affair of Spies by Ronald H. Balson

This was a fascinating story!  Dr. Allison Fisher is a scientist in Chicago working with nuclear reactors.  Nathan Silverman was born in Germany and escaped to America.  He comes a soldier in the American army.  Nathan and Dr. Fisher are sent to Germany to determine how far along they are in the race to build a nuclear weapon. The story kept me turning the pages for the adventure and the risk that the characters were willing to take.  It makes the reader think about the cost of war on both sides. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Concrete Evidence by Diann Mills

This book also marks my 200th review through Netgalley!  I am so thankful for the chance to read and review books.  It has been such a privilige!! You should wait to read this story until you can read it from cover to cover and all of your food and drinks are nearby :)  Notify your friends and family that you can not be disturbed, that is how good this book is--you won't want to do anything else until you can figure out how the story ends. I loved the strength of the main characters and the supporting characters were great as well  I will be thinking about this book for quite a while. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  the opinions are my own.

The Orchard by Beverly Lewis

Two worlds collide in the midst of the VietNam War--Amish and English. Ellie and her twin, Levi, have been raised as Pacificists but Levi has been spending more time with the English during his Rumspringa.  This has challenged his worldview and made him consider enlisting. This book was an interesting look at standing up for your beliefs even in the midst of hard times. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Come Down Somewhere by Jennifer L. Wright

This is also a new author for me! It took me a little bit to get in to this dual timeline but once I did, I was hooked! The beauty of a dual timeline is that it like pieces of a puzzle that you are given at each chapter.  By the end of the book, you are given the whole puzzle and it is amazing! The characters of Jo and Olive during the time of WWII.  There is such a dichotomy between the two women--Jo has such hope and faith and Olive does not. It was interesting to me to read more about Trinity and the atomic bomb.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

A Daughter's Courage by Misty Beiler (Brides of Laurent #3)

This is a new to me author but I look forward to reading more of her books!! Two solo travelers come together in a fight against the elements--snow, ice, wind, mountains, bears and wolves!  Will they be able to trust each other and heal from the hurt in their lives? I loved the adventure and suspense that took place in this book.  Charlotte's father also gave such words of wisdom. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
