Daily Wisdom for Women by Barbour Publishing

I was so excited to receive this devotional.  The devotional is set for 2022 but I read each day of December.  Each day starts with a Scripture verse, followed by a meditation by the author and ends with a prayer.  This month I have been really encouraged by the words that have been written in the devotional and I look forward to continuing to read it in 2022! This would make a great gift for a loved one for the new year!! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

The Bookseller's Promise by Beth Wiseman

Image
Yvonne is an English woman who is engaged to Trevor.  She finds rare books for clients and has found the book that her client wants.  Unfortunately, the Amish man, Jake, doesn't want to sell the book because he made a promise to his grandfather to never sell it.   I really enjoyed the premise of the book but unfortunately it did not capture my interest like I thought it would.  I enjoyed how the ending tied it all together but it the boo9k was lacking for me in engagement. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton by Susannah B. Lewis

Image
This is the first book that I have read by this author and can't wait to check out more of her books.  I loved the character of Rae and I loved the women that came alongside of her following the loss of her mom.  My mom has been gone from us for over 7 years and went suddenly.  I wish that she would have been able to have written letters and advice to me ahead of time.   I received a complimentary copy of this book. O pinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Love in Plain Sight (An Amish Mail Order Bride #3) by Kathleen Fuller

I loved coming back to Birch Creek and hearing about the previous characters in the series.  My heart hurt for Katherine as she had to escape to Birch Creek.  I also enjoyed the character of Ezra.   I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Something Good by Vanessa Miller

This is the first book that I have read by this author and will definitely not be the last.  I really enjoyed the characters of Alexis, Trish and Marquita.  I also enjoyed how some aspects of the story were so difficult but there was the chance for forgiveness and reconciliation.   I received a complimentary copy of this book. O pinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Mulberry Hollow by Denise Hunter (Riverbend #2)

Image
I loved being back in Riverbend Gap and following the characters I came to care about that were in the first book.  This book follows Avery who is running the clinic and also concerned about her future medical concerns.  Wes comes in to town off of the Appalachian Trail and is such an honorable man as he tries to honor the memory of his friend. I am looking forward to the third book in this series!! I received a complimentary copy of this book. O pinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Life Flight by Lynette Eason

This book is a must read!!!  I loved the characters, loved the suspense, loved me the medical aspect, can't say how much I loved this book! Penny takes on the hard cases as she flies the medical helicopter but finds herself crashed in the mountains with a serial killer on the loose.  It seems to just get worse for Penny as the story goes on but she gets to be reacquainted with Holt who is an FBI special agent.  I really enjoyed how much he looked out for her throughout the story! Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Do Over by Bethany Turner

Image
Bethany Turner knocked it out of the park once again!  I have been on facebook live video calls with her and I immediately found her so easy to relate to, and this comes through in her characters in her books as well. I particularly enjoyed the characters of Taylor, Erica, McKenna and of course the steamy Henry.  This book has steamy romance, fun characters and lots of references to tv characters.  Definitely a fun read! I received a complimentary copy of this book. O pinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

High Wire Heartbreak by Anna Schmidt (Doors to the Past)

Image
My Grandpa loved going to the Ringling Brothers Circus and was a snowbird in the Bradenton/Sarasota area so this book definitely caught my interest! This book goes between the present day of author Chloe and the past in the 1930's of her great-grandmother Lucinda who was a trapeze artist in the circus.  The story was compelling and the characters were easy to relate to.  I can't wait to share this book with my grandma! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Saving Mrs. Roosevelt by Candace Sue Patterson Heroines of WWII

5 stars I thoroughly enjoyed this book by a new to me author.  Shirley wants to do something in the midst of the war that is raging.  When the opportunity presents itself to be a part of the Women's Coast Guard, she jumps at the chance.  After a grueling time of training, she ends up back in her hometown, working to save the First Lady.  The story is tantalizing as the reader does not know in the end who is friend or foe.  This was a wonderful story and kept me on the edge of my seat.   I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Elinor by Shannon McNear

Image
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and learned so much.  This is an author that I have never read before but will definitely be checking her out in the future. I really enjoyed how the author portrayed both the settlers and the people who were already in the States.  I particularly enjoyed the character of Sees Far.   I definitely got lost in this story and wanted to keep with the characters that were in it.  I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review

Deadly Target by Elizabeth Goddard Rocky Mountain #2

5 stars Gosh--this book kept me up at night riveted to the story.  I can not wait for the next book.  This book was the perfect book after a couple of books that were not my style.   The characters of Erin and Nathan were amazing.  I almost felt bad for them by the end of the story with all of the awful things that were happening around them.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Rest Girl by Jami Amerine

This is the perfect book for me since we have added two kids to our family recently including a newborn.  I long for rest and lots of it :)  There are many aspects of this book that I enjoy.  The main concept was that we can choose fear or love.  If we are filled with fear we have no rest.  The Bible says that perfect love casts out fear.  This is something that I definitely need to work on.  I also liked the concept of the gratitude shift and writing down all of the things that I love.  I need to continue to fill my mind with Scripture and remember that God is in control.   I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Lost in Darkness by Michelle Griep

This is the second book that I have read by this author.  I thought that this book would be similar to the first one that I had read.  This book is classified as Regency Era Gothic Romance.  I really enjoyed the writing style and the characters in the book.  I particularly enjoyed Colin, Graham and Nemo.   I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
