Once Upon A Wardrobe by Patti Callahan

5 STARS! I do not have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe this book--it was enchanting, magical, enticing, etc.  I did not want to put it down and finished it sadly in under a day.   I read the Narnia books when I was younger but am not as in to fantasy reading but I read the previous book by the author, Becoming Mrs. Lewis, and I was captivated by the story of Joy Davidson.  This story was equally captivating and took me on such an adventure.   The author is a fantastic storyteller and took me on such a journey in this book.  I particularly fell in love with the characters of Megs, George, Paidig, Jack and Marnie.  This book gave me so much to think about and I am deeply appreciative of that.  I look forward to reading it again in the future for a new and different experience. Thanks so much to the publisher and netgalley for the arc.  The opinions are my own. This review will be posted on my blog (www.kroosreadsandreviews.blogspot.com), bookbub, goodreads and netgalley.

Spring's Renewal by Shelley Shepard Gray Seasons of Sugar Creek #2

5 stars I really enjoyed this book-it was a quick read and easy to fall in love with the characters in the book.   I particularly enjoyed the character of Clara.  She rose above the serious medical challenges that life had dealt her and managed to find joy in her job and family and friends.  I might even go back and read the first book in the series!

Dusk's Darkest Shore by Carolyn Miller Regency Wallflowers #1

4 stars This was my first time reading anything written by this author, but I look forward to reading more of her books. I really enjoyed the characters of Mary and Adam. Both characters had dreams for their lives that they were not sure if they would be met but they kept trying to go through life with Gods help. My review will be added to my blog: www.kroosreadsandreviews.blogspot.com and will be posted on bookbub. Thanks to much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own. When God Says No by Elizabeth Laing Thompson

5 stars This book takes a vignette from a Bible story and brings an application to our lives today (disappointment, bitterness, etc).  The chapter with the application ends with a prayer and journal prompt.   One takeaway that I enjoyed from this book is that I often remember the heroes of faith for their walk with God but do not always remember that they were also told no by God.  I think of Moses and his walk with God and then he was told that he could not entered the Promised Land.   A verse that I always enjoy in Scripture is "My power is made complete in weakness".  The author reminded me that everyone always wants the miracle but they often do not want the crisis that precedes it. This book gave me many things to think about and I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Barbour Publishing for a copy of the book.  This is my honest review.   You can find the book at Barbour here:   When God Says "No" (barbourbooks.com)

The Edelweiss Sisters by Kate Hewitt

5 Stars!! I am a huge fan of Kate Hewitt and was so excited to read this book! The story is set in Austria at the time of World War II. The Eder sisters each find a way to navigate their way through the trauma and awfulness of this time period. The realities of this time period are so hard to understand but the author tells the story in such a way that I can learn about this period and find strength from it. I really enjoyed the character of the mom and her strength and resolve as the world was falling apart. I also learned more about Corrie Tenboom and her families role in the war. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own. I will share to my blog ( www.kroosreadsandreviews.Blogspot.com ) and to bookbub. This book is published by Bookouture and will be released on June 8, 2021.  You can find it on amazon here:   The Edelweiss Sisters: An epic, heartbreaking and gripping World War 2 novel - Kindle edition by Hewitt, Kate.
