The Wind Blows in Sleeping Grass by Katie Powner

This is such a powerful book!  There were so many characters to love in this story.  My favorites were definitely Wilma, Braedon and Windy Ray.  Windy Ray and Wilma had such wisdom and faith throughout the book which I really enjoyed.  It gave me another insight into the foster care system as well.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Starlet Spy by Rachel Scott McDaniel

I found that this was such a unique story to tell about WWII.  I really enjoyed the character of Amelie and found it so interesting that as an actress she was recruited to go undercover as a spy.  So many women have done such amazing things in our history especially during war times.  I enjoy reading so much about their heroic acts and the so many that worked alongside them. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

The Women by Kristin Hannah

It's hard to put this book into words!   The strength, resilience and determination of these women was amazing.  I learned so much about a time in our history that was flooded with so many emotions.  The best part of this story was the friendship that Frankie had with the women that surrounded her.  This book will have me thinking for quite some time about the characters and their stories. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

To Protect His Brother's Baby by Linda Goodnight

This was my first time reading this author and I will definitely check her out again.  This was a new take on a book that I haven't read before, an uncle being concerned about his unborn nephew.  I liked the interaction between Wilder and Taylor.  I also really enjoyed how strong Wilders faith was despite hard times in his life.  Taylor also was an endearing character as she fought to stand on her own two feet.  I also enjoyed how Taylor and Wilder sought to engage their neighbor  Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

On Moonberry Lake by Holly Varni

What a great story!  My heart ached for Cora at the beginning of the story.  I felt bad for her too to be surrounded by these characters from the lake.  It was incredible as the story went on to learn more about these eccentric characters and to fall in love with each of them.  I usually highlight a few characters that I liked but this story has so many, each person that I met, I grew to love.   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Tracked Through the Woods by Laura Scott

I have never read anything by this author but I enjoyed the suspense and romance that were woven throughout the story.  I definitely had no idea who was behind all of the crimes.  Following all of the crimes with Abby and Wyatt was so much fun as the puzzle pieces came together. Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
