 I have been a fan of this author for quite some time so I was thrilled to read this book.  The author has such a great way of being so descriptive in her writing.   I could picture myself in the scenes and it makes the story even more enthralling for the reader. Hannah is the bodyguard and she has overcome so much in her life.  I really appreciated her self-deprecation yet also her ability to succeed in a world that was challenging for her.  Jack Stapleton is the famous actor that she has been hired to protect.  Definitely characters that the reader will fall in love with.  The year is 1990 and Olivia and Dean are happily married.  They want to start planning their family and are so excited for it.  That night Dean flies a private jet and disappears in to the Bermuda Triangle In 1986, Melanie is a researcher and studying why planes goes missing in the Bermuda Triangle.  She goes to a counselor, Dr. Robinson at the advice of her school in the midst of her thesis paper preparation. From here, there are so many twists and turns, this book kept me on the edge of my seat to figure out how it was all connected!  This was such an interesting book and I really enjoyed watching how the veil brought two families together.   It was meant to bring good luck but for some it put so much pressure on them. I really loved learning more about Asheville, North Carolina and the Biltmore house.  It was fascinating to read about the VanderBilt family as well. I enjoyed watching how the family dynamics played out throughout the book as well.  It was wonderful to see the special relationship especially between the grandma and the granddaughter.  I particularly enjoyed the supporting characters of Babs, Miles and Conner!   Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.  

  This is an incredible story about the hope and heartbreak of open adoption told from the viewpoint of child, biological mom and adoptive mom.  The story was told in the present and in the past.  For me, the story captivated the emotions of adoption and sometimes the secrets that are kept.  4 stars I did not read the previous 3 books in the series so it took me a little  bit to figure out who all of the characters were and how they fit together, but once I did, I was hooked.  I enjoyed so much that this family came together during the holidays, even with all of their emotional baggage, and continued all of their traditions.  I also enjoyed how despite the trials, they still cared so much about each other.
