Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton by Susannah B. Lewis




This is the first book that I have read by this author and can't wait to check out more of her books.  I loved the character of Rae and I loved the women that came alongside of her following the loss of her mom.  My mom has been gone from us for over 7 years and went suddenly.  I wish that she would have been able to have written letters and advice to me ahead of time.

5 stars!!!! Somewhere is the place where the reader will want to be!! From the prologue the author has the reader picturing themselves in the story. She engages the reader with her typical deep storyline with its sprinkling of humor throughout.   The idea of turning these abandoned ghost towns into viable properties is such an engaging story I love Maudie--she loves Avalee deeply but also confronts her when needed. I also want to pick up a hammer and start renovating.  I love how they keep the treasures and find ways to reuse them like the best HGTVers Love the idea of small happies The quotes throughout the book are so meaningful!  I highlighted so many of them! Ambush by Colleen Coble

 Such a great setting for this romantic suspense book!  The Sanctuary is home to exotic animals but Paradise is hoping that it will be home to her as she confronts her past.  Blake is doing the noble thing by coming home to help his mom and brothers but comes alongside Paradise to help discover all of the attacks on the Sanctuary.   My favorite characters were Jenna, Levi and Isaac.  Those little boys were so sweet!    Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The American Queen by Vanessa Miller

 This story isn't an easy fiction read.  It comes from a place when horrible atrocities took place to people.  It's a book that needs to be read though as the reader can learn about the strength of the people who lived in Happy Land.  William and Louella led their people through extremely trying times and sought the Lord first throughout it all.  Mama Sue was another great character with her steady presence in the background to the leading characters.  To learn that William and Louella were "real people" made the story even more endearing.  Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
