Kroosreadsandreviews thoughts: I loved being in the Pacific Northwest in the 1890's as the characters progress towards more updates.  It was interesting to see the thoughts behind the roads that were laid and how mail was distributed.   I loved Mary and her fierce determination and resilience to survive amidst a harsh climate.   She took a lot of risks in order to achieve her dreams.   There seemed to be a lot of loose ends but maybe those will weave together in the next book? Thanks to the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own. About the book: In 1888 Mary Edwards Gerritse is a witty and confident young woman who spends as much time as possible outdoors on the rugged Oregon coast where she and her husband, John, have settled. The two are a formidable pair who are working hard to prove their homesteading claim and build a family. But as Mary faces struggles of young motherhood and questions about her family of origin, she realizes...

Sometimes You Stay by Liz Johnson

Kroosreadsandreviews thoughts: Such a fun experience to be on Prince Edward Island.  It seemed like such a great community with a family vibe.  I loved how Marie and Finn opened up their hearts and homes to a complete stranger in Cretia.  Cretia's job seems like so much fun despite not having a real home.  Cretia's history with her mom was mentioned quite a bit throughout the story.  Farmer Finn was a great guy who took in all of the strays whether they were animal or human. His heart to help others was truly remarkable. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own. About the book: For digital content creator Cretia Martin, home is wherever her carry-on suitcase lands. And it's constantly landing in new places as she travels the world. She's never been interested in settling in one spot--after all, houses are just places that collect junk and tie you down. But when she literally bumps into local dog breeder Finn Chaffey on Pr...

Kroosreadsandreviews thoughts: These Love Inspired Suspense books are so good!  I love how they keep my attention and I keep wanting to read one more chapter. My heart broke for the main characters as the disappearance of Christy affected them both profoundly.  Christy turned her career around to be able to solve the mystery of her college roommate and Mike spent 12 years investigating and trying to clear the suspicions of his family member.   These novels can be a little predictable but I love the suspense, mystery and romance that is woven throughout the story.  Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own. About the book: Can she crack a decade-old cold case  before the murderer silences her? The moment FBI agent Christy Williams arrives in Mercy, Texas, determined to solve her friend’s disappearance twelve years ago, she becomes a killer’s number one target. Ignoring the threats on her life, she partners with D...
