I love to watch court room dramas and I was excited to read about one.

It was interesting to see behind the scenes of a criminal case and the amount of investigating that needs to take place.

I loved how Margeaux had such supportive friends in Janae and Chloe. They held her accountable and provided extra support.

Chase was an enjoyable character as he fought for the truth without giving in to emotions.

What's it about:

When a popular college student is murdered, her international roommate, Anneliese, becomes a prime suspect. But law professor Margeaux Robbins is convinced the killer can't be the quiet, lonely German in her class.

Chase Crandall is a burned-out defense attorney ready to extricate himself from the grind of criminal law. After the loss of a client to tragedy, he's ready for an in-house corporate position.

When Chase is assigned to Anneliese's case, Margeaux is horrified. She doesn't want him to provide legal counsel, not after what happened to his past client. And not with the evidence implicating Anneliese. The lawyer and professor reluctantly pair up to find the killer and prove Anneliese's innocence. Will they be able to untangle the mystery and navigate their growing interest in one another before Margeaux's student and Chase's client is imprisoned?

5 stars!!!! Somewhere is the place where the reader will want to be!! From the prologue the author has the reader picturing themselves in the story. She engages the reader with her typical deep storyline with its sprinkling of humor throughout.   The idea of turning these abandoned ghost towns into viable properties is such an engaging story I love Maudie--she loves Avalee deeply but also confronts her when needed. Ambush by Colleen Coble

 Such a great setting for this romantic suspense book!  The Sanctuary is home to exotic animals but Paradise is hoping that it will be home to her as she confronts her past.  Blake is doing the noble thing by coming home to help his mom and brothers but comes alongside Paradise to help discover all of the attacks on the Sanctuary.   My favorite characters were Jenna, Levi and Isaac.  Those little boys were so sweet!    Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Some Like it Scot by Pepper Basham

 Wow!  The puns and misadventures in this book were such a treat!  Katie had such a humble view of herself and didn't take herself seriously.  Her ability to laugh off her blinders and find the joy in each day was so endearing.  Katie's descriptions of Graeme painted him in such a good light.  Mirren was an incredible character and a person you would want in your corner.  Lachlan was just adorable as could be.   Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
