Canyon of Deceit by Diann Mills

 

This book took the reader from the heights of the Guadalupe Mountains to the area around Houston in order to save a little girl.  It involves criminal activity, foreign affairs, and a whole lot more!


Blane and Therese try to sort out all of the mess and figure out where little Alina is.  She is such a strong character and remains steadfast throughout the perils that she experiences.  


I enjoyed the suspense throughout the book but got a little bogged down on the Russian aspect in the story.

The 5-Minute Visual Guide to the Bible by Michael Wittmer

5 stars This is a fantastic book that gives an overview of the Bible.  I enjoyed that while I was reading in the minor prophets, I could turn to the section about the minor prophets and understand more about what was happening in Amos.  I also really enjoyed how the author put a Scripture index in the back of the book to help the reader find out more information quickly.  The pictures are also stunning  throughout the book.   I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Across the Crying Sands by Jane Kirpatrick

  Kroosreadsandreviews thoughts: I loved being in the Pacific Northwest in the 1890's as the characters progress towards more updates.  It was interesting to see the thoughts behind the roads that were laid and how mail was distributed.   I loved Mary and her fierce determination and resilience to survive amidst a harsh climate.   She took a lot of risks in order to achieve her dreams.   There seemed to be a lot of loose ends but maybe those will weave together in the next book?
