Love in Tandem by Becca Kinzer

 I read this author's debut novel last month and when I saw this one I jumped at the chance to read it!  The author has such an engaging storytelling.  The reader wants to be along for the ride and be a part of the characters lives, except if it means riding a tandem bike ;).  Zach and Charlotte were such great characters and so much fun to read about.

5 stars!!!! Somewhere is the place where the reader will want to be!! From the prologue the author has the reader picturing themselves in the story. She engages the reader with her typical deep storyline with its sprinkling of humor throughout.   The idea of turning these abandoned ghost towns into viable properties is such an engaging story I love Maudie--she loves Avalee deeply but also confronts her when needed. I also want to pick up a hammer and start renovating.  I love how they keep the treasures and find ways to reuse them like the best HGTVers Love the idea of small happies The quotes throughout the book are so meaningful!  I highlighted so many of them! A Picture of Hope by Liz Tolsma

5 stars If you enjoy World War II historical fiction, this is the book for you.  I have read many WWII novels but this was a different spin on it with the story revolving around a little girl named Claire who had Down Syndrome.   I think I may need to re-read the ending because I was trying to read the book as fast as I could because I wanted so desperately to know how the story would end!  The character of Sister Maria-Theresa was one that I loved.  She had such strength and faith amidst the adversity that they were facing.  Maria-Theresa always sought the Lord during the crisis and had such wisdom for those around her.   I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
