Taken at Christmas by Jodie Bailey

5 stars This is a book where you will say, one more chapter and will get to the end of it, and need another one, and then all of a sudden the book is done!!! This was a fast paced suspense story.  I was engaged with the characters and the story line.   I loved how Hayden was so supportive of Mia and Ruthie but that he had such a great support system as well.   Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

The Story She Left Behind by Patti Callahan Henry

5 stars This author has such a special way of drawing the reader into her stories.  It's almost magical how she paints such a vivid picture with her words! This magical, imaginative story isn't usually my genre but I really enjoyed the story.  It gave me time to think about the words and experiences that we go through. I really enjoyed the mother daughter bonds throughout the book even though they may be entangled with heartache, there is still so much strength there. Charlie, Wynnie and Pippa were my favourite characters.  I enjoyed how much they loved those around them. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Over the Edge by Irene Hannon

5 stars This book put me over the edge!!  These suspense books with a sprinkling of romance are so good!  The book had me guessing who the suspects were and my jaw dropping when they were revealed! Lindsey has been through so much in life and keeps fighting and trying her best to overcome.   Jack also has skeletons in his closet that he's had to fight to overcome.  I enjoy that he makes time for his sisters and their comfortable banter.    Make sure you clear your calendar when you read this book, you won't want to put it down! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

B is for Bonnet by Shelley Shepard Gray

4 stars It was so good to read about the four Schrock siblings.  The additional characters of Treva, Kennedy and Matt were a great addition as well.  This story centers around Jonny and whether or not he will choose the Amish faith.  I loved the element of forgiveness that ran throughout the story  Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own

A Healing Touch by Suzanne Woods Fisher

5 stars I really enjoyed this story!  There were so many characters that were enjoyable in this story but my favorite was Fern.  Fern was a no nonsense lady but dispensed wisdom with grace and allowed the listener to come to their own conclusions.  I always appreciate when an author weaves in foster care to the story.  There are so many great things about foster care but also so many hard things and this was done well by the author.  Dok was also a great character and her medical knowledge and love for her community was unparalleled. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Hunted for the Holidays by Deena Alexander

5 stars I love these books!   The mystery, suspense and romance keep my fingers turning the pages as quickly as I can read.  I always try to guess who is involved but am not always correct.  Mason, Shae and Gracie were wonderful characters and had the reader cheering them on in the midst of the turmoil they were in.    Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.

Filled by Jamie Finn

5 stars!! As a foster parent it remains imperative that I dig into the Word daily and lean into God along the many highs and lows of this journey. This 60 day devotional encouraged me to do that.  It felt like the author could see into my heart and my home as so many of the things that she wrote spoke to me.  The foster care journey can be so isolating and lonely and to know that others are walking alongside me is such an encouragement to me.  It reminded me too to keep my eyes on Jesus no matter what is happening in my "foster world".   This is a must read for those who are foster parents but for everyone to give a glimpse into the world of a foster parent. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.  The opinions are my own.
